The hole

Depth of the hole was unfathomable, may be looking through a SEM would reveal the exact shape of it. But, I, for the life of me cannot go looking for one. Yes, it sounds creepy. May be through a small light reflecting device I can get a better picture but finding a sufficiently small one is a challenge in itself. That four days, it was insane but very real. Surprising that such a small thing could bring a big impact, well not that small but still. The formation of holes of this nature is quite uncanny because the thing in itself is quite thick and hard. I think it’s a design flaw that is causing this stuff to happen in the first place. May be it’s a feature of the self healing aspects of this complex mass of sticks with a soft topping. Lessons learned, everything need careful, thorough, and consistent maintenance for long term sustainability.
